TIPS FOR SUCCESS
-
Choose a ham size that will fit in your slow cooker pot. If you get a ham that is too large, you can trim some of the meat off to make it fit and then surround the ham with the cut pieces.
-
If the lid does not close all of the way, you can wrap foil around it to keep the heat in.
-
Bone-in spiral cut ham makes the sauce much more flavorful. You can still choose a boneless ham. I prefer ones that are already sliced so the flavors get in between each of the layers.
-
For a thicker glaze, you can whisk in 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with the pineapple juice before pouring it into the pot.

-
Want a different flavor variation? Swap out the canned pineapple tidbits for canned diced peaches or cranberry sauce. Add spices from sliced peppers or ground cayenne pepper.
